I read very few blogs... at least compared to most of the bloggy-world people I know. But there are handful that I do keep track of. One of them is the blog of "
Jamie the Very Worst Missionary". I find her hysterical and I love how she's so un-stereotypical. And while I probably look more like the stereotype of teacher or a Christian, most of the people I know who are true and solid Christ-followers don't look like what people expect them to. Sometimes I feel like people expect me to glow or to walk around like some suffering (but angelic) Mary figure.
You see, a lot of us have gotten some things wrong in the whole "being a Christian" business. So when I read Jamie Wright's post about
Women in Ministry I found it really applicable, not only to where I am in life but to where all of us should be. It's not that we should all be worldly or look like the world. It's that we shouldn't!
Each and every one of us is called to be a minister of God's word and of the gospel to others, no matter what country or profession we may have on the side. I do not have to be a nun to do God's work, and neither do you.
